Nations Cup Teams are getting ready for CHIO5* Rotterdam
The only international five-star dressage and jumping competition in the Netherlands, CHIO Rotterdam, starts today at 14:00 with the national Grand Prix for Dutch dressage competitors. Many countries have already announced their teams for the Olympics Games, but for the Dutch riders this is an incredibly important competition, because next Monday (the 5th July) the national coaches Alex van Silfhout (dressage) and Rob Ehrens (jumping) will announce their delegated riders for the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Dressage
The Nations Cup dressage starts this Thursday at 08:00 with the Grand Prix and will be continued on Saturday with the Grand Prix Special at 16:00 and will end with the Grand Prix Freestyle at 19:00. Dinja van Liere, Edward Gal, Hand Peter Minderhoud and Marlies van Baalen will represent the Netherlands in the Nations Cup. They will compete against the only two other teams present this weekend: Germany and Belgium.
Jumping
The challenge is a little more thrilling when it comes to showjumping: ten countries will compete with each other during the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup that will start on Friday at 17:00 and will be held over two rounds. Teams from Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, United States, Sweden and Switzerland will be present and taking part. The team for the Netherlands will consist of Frank Schuttert, Maikel van der Vleuten, Marc Houtzager and Willem Greve.
Watch online
Unfortunately due to the covid pandemic, this edition of CHIO Rotterdam will still held without the presence of any public. However, the entire weekend will be streamed through several online live steams, including Clip My Horse, FEI TV and Horse & Country TV. The program and links to all broadcasts can be found here.
