Darc de Lux: dazzling, delightful and on top of the standings
He jumped at all the big events around the globe, but who did expect the Danish bred Darc de Lux on top of the standings after two days of jumping at the World Cup Finals? Time to catch up with this best boy from town and his charming rider.
“I am really really grateful for Darc de Lux, not many riders have a horse like that”, says the Danish Andreas Schou about his best friend. “He keeps on delivering and already gave us so many adventures. He belongs to the best horses of the world.” And for sure to the most handsome we think.
Needed the time
The impressive stallion is since the age of five at the stables of Andreas. “My wife started with Darc de Lux. He was so careful, so sharp as a young horse, so he really needed the time. Just before he turned nine, I took him over. Since them we have jumped him almost everywhere; Olympics, World Championships, European Championships and now the World Cup Final.”
Not surprised
When we asked him if he was surprised being on top of the standings he said: “I’m supposed to say yes, but actually I’m not. Darc de Lux is such an amazing horse and performing so well. He definitely deserved to be here.” And we can only agree.
Great shape
The stunning 12-years-old stallion is by Darco and in a great shape the last few months regarding the results: clear and 8th in the Rolex Grand Prix of Geneva, 5th in the World Cup qualifier of Lyon, 6th in the 1.60m Prize of Geneva, just a penalty for time in the World Cup qualifier of Stuttgart and one rail down in the World Cup qualifiers of Amsterdam and London and in the Rolex Grand Prix of ‘s-Hertogenbosch. Not the slightest events.
Hoofs down
He isn’t the fastest horse of the stage, but the big galloping stallion clears the courses of the World Cup Final hoofs down. Could they handle the pressure in tomorrows final? We wish them all the luck.
